While Facebook is supposed to make people feel good, a new study has found that that looking up friends on Facebook makes a lot of people feel isolated and miserable.

Researchers found that 36 percent of Facebook users feel envy and “general dissatisfaction” when they look up friends and see them succeeding and enjoying life.

Even just seeing images of smiling faces leaves some people questioning their own lives.

Because the flu outbreak is so crazy this year, health officials are urging people to do whatever they can to avoid getting sick.

But not all preventative measures are created equal.

Here’s a rundown of some of the biggest flu mistakes people are making:

  • Assuming the vaccine is all you need – Even if you got the flu shot, keep in mind that it's not guaranteed protection.
  • Covering your sneeze with your hands – It’s much better to cough and sneeze into your elbow.
  • Washing your hands in a hurry – Too many people are just rinsing their hands and not scrubbing. Healthy hand washing requires at least 20 seconds, or about the time it takes to sing "Happy Birthday" twice.
  • Pretending you aren't sick – Ignoring your cough and still going to work or school is a great way to make yourself – and the people around you – sicker.

The Scottish government has come out with a free app that shows the long-term effects of alcohol on the skin. And the results aren’t pretty.

The new app, called Drinking Mirror, allows users to upload their photo, enter their weekly alcohol intake and check out their face 10 years later. The results show a face full of puffiness, redness and deeper wrinkles. The Scottish government released the app in an effort to curb binge drinking.
